The Future Is You - By Oguntade Victoria
The Future Is You
As youths, while growing we have always being told that we are the leaders of tomorrow. Elders around us would have told us on several occasions that we are future leaders. Our parents while toiling to sponsor our education had in mind that in the future we will make them proud. Most of us had pictures of what we want to become in the future when we were young .
However , "The tomorrow" elders spoke of is "now", the future our parents dreamt of is here and we are that future.
Yes! We are the future the world is awaiting .
Now that we have realised that we are the future, are we going to keep folding our arms while our generation keeps awaiting our manifestation?
Let me make it more real. What do you intend to do as a youth to add value to your world thereby making it more suitable for the next generation to live in?
Remember that the mobile phone, computer, aircraft, electricity, social media and every other thing you are enjoying today are as a result of some people's contributions to their world.
How do you intend to contribute your own quota to this world as such making it more adaptable , or you are just going to continue complaining, joining the group of people that blame the government for every single thing that happens to them including their own failures?
What about the faith your parents have in you? The joy in their heart when sponsoring your education with the hope that one day you will make them proud.
I also hope you haven't forgotten those beautiful dreams you had when you were much younger. Why not make them happen?
Why not arise to your responsibility as "the future" the world has being patiently expecting. You are a solution to this world's problem, you are a gift to mankind and a rear gem in this generation. Why don't you start creating opportunities and platforms for yourself instead of waiting endlessly for one to come. Look inward, discover your potentials and use them to bless your world.
Always remember that this generation needs you, your parent are waiting , a lot of people are looking up to you and most importantly, God is trusting you to unleash the hidden potentials embedded in you to make the world a more beautiful place to behold.
